5 Scary Animal Movies
Cinema has given us stories of friendly and loving animals, humanized to the extreme and willing to live heroic or funny adventures. But it also showed us the darker side of some members of that great kingdom of which man is a part. That’s why we propose a review of some animal movies that scare us, at least in fiction.

In the list of movies where animals become a real or invented threat, there’s everything. From unforgettable classics to class B movies that fulfill their goal of entertaining very well. Many unsustainable trash movies were also filmed. Especially after a lot of sequels. Here is our selection:

shark
This now classic 1975 film, which director Steven Spielberg famous for, focuses on the attacks of a great white shark in a small tourist town on the east coast of the United States. It also shows how a shark hunter, an oceanographer and the local police chief try to capture the killer fish.
His big success came in various sequels and a bunch of scary animal movies that tried to emulate him, to piggyback on his fame and generate good business. None have managed to surpass it or even reach the same level, of course.

The naked jungle (Marabunta)
The dictionary defines the word marabunta as a “massive population of certain migratory ants that devour anything edible they come across”. Well, this is where Charlton Heston, the protagonist of this 1954 film, directed by Byron Haskin, meets.
Shot in a South American jungle, the film tells the story of the owner of a large cocoa plantation threatened by these predatory insects. Meanwhile, the man has also fought the battle of trying to build a relationship with his wife (Eleanor Parker), who cannot adapt to the place.

The birds
Considered one of Alfred Hitchcock’s many masterpieces , the film tells the story of birds that have become aggressive towards humans. Birds that, in general, are harmless. And the best part is that the reason for this reaction is never explained.
Released in 1963, the story takes place in a quiet town on the west coast of the United States, where, suddenly, all kinds of birds start attacking its inhabitants. It starred Tippi Hedren and Rod Taylor. And the director achieves sublime moments using only the croaking of birds.

arachnophobia
From the Venezuelan jungle, this time, comes fear in the form of a poisonous species of spider for the Californian people. The intruder mixes with local arachnids and hundreds of these arthropods begin to sow death in their path.
Directed by Frank Marshall and produced by Spielberg, the film dates back to 1990 and starred Jeff Daniels in addition to the spiders in question. For filming, in addition to mechanical creatures, some real tarantulas that inhabit South America were used.

Anaconda
The Amazon can bring you unpleasant surprises. Especially if instead of the tribe you’re looking for, you find a killer snake. This is what happens with the group of documentarists of this 1997 film, who are faced with the title’s anaconda.
Directed by Luis Llosa and starring Jennifer Lopez and Jon Voight, the film was destroyed by critics. Anyway, it won a considerable audience and even a sequel was made. In cinema, as in life, taste is undisputed.
