Staying on the couch and looking at you makes me remember, dream and be able to relive the moment you showed up at my house, you arrived and everything changed. You were shy, but soon you went behind my legs to seek refuge; already trusted me and barely knew me! The feeling that took me was that of a superhero who can protect the helpless, I felt you needed me.

The first day I had to go to work, it was horrible to leave him alone at home. You looked at me with a sad face and followed my steps, trying to get through any crack in the door to keep up with me. I would have loved to take you, but as much as I tried to explain that it was impossible, you didn’t understand me… His eyes filled with sadness kept filling me with sadness too.

I wanted to go home, I was worried all day, wondering if everything was all right, if you needed me. When you came back, your joy at seeing me was so great that I forgot everything else and just wanted to hug you; kiss; present you with a treat. Is it possible to like someone more? he thought. Today, 7 years after that day, I can assure you not.

Looking at you is remembering, dreaming, and flying towards a coexistence together, in which we live good times and… Only good times! You brought joy into my life, into my home. It didn’t matter how many changes came along, or how many people stayed in my life, you liked them as much as you liked me. It made things easier for me. Although I imagine this is something he’s done his whole life, it makes my existence easier.

I love watching you with my wife, asking for her affection, or sleeping under my baby’s crib to protect him. You’re little, but I’m sure you’d give your life for him if I had to. This makes me full of pride and happiness. I’m sure I could never have found a better life partner than you.

I’m the one who has to thank you for making my life more beautiful, for falling in love with my wife with your caress and games, protecting my son, even if I sacrifice your life for his, making me laugh when I need to, coming to my side when I needed support.
