The sad story of Bear, a dog who lived in an animal protective society

What would you feel if you spent your entire life waiting to be adopted? How would you understand the fact that some people are interested in you, but for an A or B reason, you stay in the shelter, while others, even those who came after you, leave happy with their new families? Something like that happened to a pet in Michigan, USA. Today,  we’re going to tell the story of Bear, the dog no one wanted to adopt.

A pet that couldn’t find a home

The good news is that he has finally found a home. However, to get to that point, the little animal had to wait too long.

Bear spent more than two and a half years with the Animal Welfare Group Detroit (DAWG) animal welfare society. As the days passed and no one was really interested in him, his sadness increased.

An image of the dog frustrated at not being adopted for the thousandth time really speaks a thousand words about how his mood was.

Bear’s story, marked by sadness

The animal had been found abandoned, wandering the streets of the city of Flint, Michigan, in the United States, when it was 7 months old. Since then, he was taken to DAWG. He was such a cute puppy that rescuers thought he would be quickly adopted.

He stayed in the temporary home for a while, but he had to return to the shelter because his caretaker could no longer stay with him. From that moment on, as if he had suffered a curse, all the people who showed interest in adopting him gave up at the last second.

Furthermore, when he participated in different adoption events organized by the animal protection society, he was one of the few animals that literally was ignored by people who searched the place in search of a pet to adopt.

A photo and a look that changed the fate of this little animal

The DAWG director, realizing that the sadness the dog  felt  was reflected in his eyes, decided to take a picture of him and post it on the shelter’s Facebook.

His image went viral, and Bear’s story was soon told on an Internet site, and then the news spread to other pages on the network.

Perhaps, this was the big turning point in the dog’s fate. From that moment on, many people showed interest in the pet until it was finally adopted by a family.

Now, the pet is happy and his brand new house even has a garden, where he can play freely.

A long-awaited happy ending

It turns out to be difficult to explain logically why Bear had so much trouble finding a human family to welcome him into their home. The dog always got along well with both adults and children. In addition, he is playful, and likes to be petted. Above all, he understands the basic rules of behavior.

His only problem was that he couldn’t live with other pets. However, without a doubt, this was not the reason it took so long to be adopted. Now, your human family will have the help of a handler who has volunteered to help make the dog’s integration into his new home successful.

Thus, Bear seems to have left his sad history of abandonment behind. And even if it took a while to find a family to care for and care about him, it’s never too late to start a good new life.

One way or another, there are many dogs like Bear that are still awaiting adoption in thousands of shelters across the planet. In addition, there are many others who are abandoned daily and who roam the streets of the world. We all wish a happy ending to your sad stories.
