Your Dog Will Love You More If He Understands You

Your dog will love you more if he understands you

Understanding people is sometimes difficult, and that’s counting on the gift of speech and expression. So imagine how difficult it is to be able to understand our dog or make us understand for him! However, body language allows us to communicate with our pets through gestures and movements, and that’s how your furry understands you.

Everyone likes to be around predictable people who know how they will act, as this gives us peace of mind and makes us feel comfortable. Isn’t it true that we like the people we understand best and with whom we can feel comfortable? Because your dog will also love you more if he understands you.

How to make your dog understand you

“Your dog will love you more if he understands you…” That’s how we ended the previous paragraph, but how can we be understood by our dog? This is not as easy as it sounds, as among us humans we only need to speak and communicate through the voice to say what we like and what we don’t, or to ask for what we want.

For this, we must use simple body language that they are able to understand. For example:

  • The position of the body. The body must be in a posture that inspires confidence. If the posture is rigid, the animal will feel uncomfortable and possibly scared. If we’re very firm, he won’t feel like approaching us.
  • Precise movements. It is important to be very clear with the animal. They easily learn gestures that want to say something, but these must always be the same for the same situations and they have to be exact and precise.
  • Don’t confuse him. It’s easy for us to make a hand gesture, raise the hand and, in another similar situation, wave the hand, but not want the animal to do the same thing. This is meaningless. You will have to use the same gesture and movement to avoid confusing the dog and not making him feel helpless and confused.

On the other hand, playing with your dog, petting him, telling him nice things, pampering him. They don’t understand bad or sad days, or whether things went well or poorly at work. They just want us to love them. That is all.

As we said at the beginning, they don’t talk and therefore won’t tell us they love us, at least not with words. The question is, how do we know if our dog loves us?

If your dog understands you and loves you, he will tell you so

There are everyday actions that your pet uses to show your affection, such as greeting you when you get home. No mistakes, there are also other actions that are not so everyday, but that your pet uses to say “I love you”.

Search for your company

Sometimes it can be uncomfortable for our dog to follow us to the bathroom, or to be on top of us on the couch all the time, but remember, it’s one of his ways of telling him he loves you.

your licks

Yes, we also know how uncomfortable it is for our dog to lick our feet, face, ears, neck and any other part of the body that is within reach. Sometimes he squints at our feet, even though they smell bad from having been out all day. It’s something we can’t understand, but remember, it’s our dog’s way of saying he loves us.

lie down next to you

On some occasions he doesn’t even leave room for you on the bed or on the couch, although it’s true that you love hugging him and knowing he loves being by your side. Another beautiful and simple way to say that I love you.

It may be that your dog may seem tiring at times when he makes all these gestures towards you, but don’t reject him, as it is his way of saying that he loves you. And remember that when you understand him, his love for you grows.
